The Deep Water Horizon Oil Spill has devastated the lives of thousands of people. You’ve seen the tragedy unfold on television; you’ve read the stories of the loss of wildlife and our precious coastline resources. We still have hope that this devastating disaster will come to an end soon. But until that time we need to be prepared for the unthinkable. United Way of Hernando County is working in conjunction with the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Management Section, to insure that we will have volunteers trained and available if and when the need arises.

Volunteers, as needed, will be contacted based on the volunteer opportunities that are available and their level of training. Training opportunities will be announced on the United Way website along with local newspapers as they become available in our County.
